On 19th June 2022, we celebrated the 30th Anniversary of our school by holding a spectacular concert at the hall of the Ashfield City Council. Attended this major event of the year were senior members of several other Chinese community language schools, Benjamin Cai (a Councillor of Strathfield local LGA), the Honorary Scott Farlow MLC and Prof. Ken Cruickshank (Director of the Sydney Institute of Community Language Education of Sydney University). Prof. Cruickshank made a speech in Chinese and presented Service Certificates to all teachers. The Principal, Dr Zhang, Ms Li Xu (DP) and two parent representatives made brief speeches. Students of all levels, from Kindies to uni students, put on their best performances ever. While the items performed by the Stage 1 students were lively and cute, the drums and Gu Zheng (Chinese ancient zither) and Song & Violin by the uni students, and the high standard choir singing by a group of teachers were definitely climax the concert and attracted whole house applauses.

Sydney Datong Chinese School started with just several students on its first day in 1992. Now it operates in four different school premises on weekend and three school premises for its after-school programs. With its well-regarded quality teaching programs and highly professional staff, it has become a partner school with the Sydney Institute of Community Language Education of Sydney University.

The Masters of Ceremony (MC) of the concert were more than 10 students who had been learning a special Chinese Language Performing Art, which is now taught by Mr Li Jiang Zhao, a lecturer and well-known television program host. This group of MC demonstrated excellent fluency in Chinese language and good expertise in performing as MC.
