Afterschool Chinese Program     North Sydney Demonstration School

Starts on Week 1, 24 July, 2024.
Ends on Week 10, 25 September, 2024.
Ten weeks in total on Wednesdays
From 3:15pm to 5:15pm

Classes incoperate Chinese culture activities 

Fees:     $250 for ten weeks, or 
$30 if paying by weekly session

Welcome to visit our school at Ashfield PS (Saturday) and Ashfield Boys HS (Sunday)

Parents are welcome to join our Yoga classes on Sunday at Ashfield Boys High School 9:15 to 10:15

Students are welcome to participate in other language and cultural projects run by Sydney Datong Chinese School: Australia Chinese Eisteddfod, Chinese Essay and Handwriting Competition, Chinese Proficiency Test for Children, Winter Concert (held in Ashfield PS, June annually), Drum Team performances, Principal Award, and Minister Award.

Brief Introduction

• Founded in 1992 by the Chinese-English Bilingual Society of Sydney University

• Conducting Chinese (Mandarin & simplified characters) program from Beginners to Grade 12, and Advance Chinese

• Other programs: visual art classes for all ages, dancing, basketball, high school Maths and English writing, primary school English and Maths, and Yuga for parents

• School annual events: Winter concert, Chinese hand writing competition and essay writing competition, mid-year and end-of-the-Year assessment, and Principal Award

• External projects: Chinese Eisteddfod, Chinese Writing Competition, Chinese Proficiency Test, Chinese New Year City Council Project, NSW Education Minister’s Award
